Introducing, Oxbury non-executive director and commercial cereal farmer, Richard Percy, who has been farming on Cottingham Farm in the Chilterns for over 40 years.
Across the UK, many businesses have published their NetZero targets to comply with the Climate Change Act and farmers are being asked to provide evidence on their carbon status.
In 2023, we embarked on a case study with Richard and his son Henry, who co-manages the farm, to gather the farm’s carbon emissions and storage data. The results showed that commercial farmers can produce crops while storing more carbon than is emitted, whilst meeting supply chain obligations and creating new opportunities.
